Dan DuBose

Charles D. (Dan) DuBose, Sr., 81, of Jackson, died Monday, June 25, 2012. 

Graveside service will be 2 pm Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Georgetown Cemetery.  Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.
He was born May 22, 1931 in Jackson.  After attending Central High School, Dan served with the United States Army during the Korean War.  He retired from BFI as Operations Manager.  Dan loved sports and played football for Central High, Mississippi College, the University of Mississippi, the University of Wyoming, and the United States Army.  A knee injury ended his playing career, but he continued in the sport as Head Football Coach at Byram High School. 
Dan was later employed as a Sales Manager for General Motors Corp., and the City of Jackson as Manager of the City Auditorium.  Dan was also a director of the Mississippi Boys Club of Jackson. He received numerous awards of appreciation for his support and service to the city of Jackson. 
Dan was preceded in death by his parents William A. DuBose, Sr. and Minnie Belle Dillon, sister Mabel Mann and brother Bill DuBose. 

Survivors include: sons Danny DuBose of Brandon, Russ (Mamie) DuBose of Georgetown, Mike (Lori) DuBose of Crystal Springs, and Pat (Delinah) DuBose, Apopka, FL; sisters Bobby Faye Brooks of Utica and Barbara Jo DuBose of Jackson and five grandchildren. 
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to your favorite charitable organization.
